Where I’ve been:
I apologize that is has been so long since my last letter! After returning from the Amazon I spent a short while in Costa Rica and then it was “On the road again…” In May we had a YWAM conference in Guatemala, then I headed to Kauai for a month with family and friends. I also had the privilege of spending a week in Southern California and sharing in a friend’s church there. God is good! He never ceases to amaze me with His goodness and faithfulness. I was blessed in many ways during this past month and I want to thank all of you who continue to be a part of my life and ministry!
Where I’m going:
This summer is a busy time at YWAM Heredia with Mission Adventures and Short Term Teams in full swing! We continue to pray and take steps of faith concerning the purchase of the property we have been renting. One door closed for a bank loan, but another one opened, so please keep that in prayer! I am applying for a School of Performing Arts (SOPA) with YWAM in Jamaica this September-February 2009. The school consists of three months of training in the arts (theater, dance, music, etc.) and a two month outreach using those tools to share the gospel and encourage the church for missions. Ever since I was a child I have been fascinated with the arts and I really feel that God has called me to further training in this area for two specific purposes: To improve our drama department here at YWAM Heredia and to begin a mobile team that travels nationally and internationally sharing the gospel and encouraging the church through the arts. Please pray with me that this dream would become a reality!
Future plans:
This September I will celebrate my ten year anniversary of serving the Lord in Costa Rica! It continues to be a thoroughly fulfilling and rewarding career. However, I feel that it is time to take a much needed Sabbatical on Kauai to invest in family and friends and reflect on what the Lord has done over the past ten years. I do not plan to leave the work in Costa Rica for good, as I plan to return after the year is up. In order for this to happen out there are many things that need to be sorted out, both here and on Kauai, so I would appreciate your prayers for this new step.
